Power Quality Case Study

When this customer's electronic equipment started acting up, they called Aschinger in to look at the grounding system. Aschinger's trained electricians reviewed the situation, and a philoscope showed the sine waves to be erratic. Aschinger's audit found the grounding to be code compliant, but, due to the customer's sensitive electronic testing equipment, code compliant was not going to be enough.

Aschinger installed a new ground plate and brand new ground wire from each piece of equipment. All transformers and services were linked into the new plate. Testing showed all sine waves to be perfect—the problem was solved.

Code compliance requires less than 25 ohms to ground. Power quality reaches as close to 0 as possible. Aschinger made sure that the customer had the power quality necessary to conduct their specific business. The customer continues to turn to Aschinger for electrical services.
